Map View
Navigate with high-resolution topographic maps featuring 4WD trails, campsites, points of interest, and real-time layers.
The map comprises high-resolution topographic vector tiles featuring multiple layers including 4WD trails (colour-coded by difficulty), campsites, points of interest, roads, place names, park boundaries, waterways, road closures (Victoria & parts of NSW), difficult sections and obstacles along trails, hillshade and contour lines, and snowline layers for areas above 1000 metres.
Zoom in for more detail. At high zoom levels, obstacles and problem sections appear.
Map View Functions
The map interface includes seven main tools:
- Search — Find trails, campsites, and saved items
- Layers / Filters — Customise which data layers are visible
- Compass — Always points North; rotates with your heading
- Toggle Camera — Switch between Crosshair, Compass, and Arrow modes
- Centre Map — Return the view to your current location
- Map Scale — Judge distances on the map
- Map HUD — Speed, altitude, coordinates, and location sharing
Map Compass
The compass always points North and helps with navigation. It will rotate as you move around depending on your heading and Camera Mode.
Camera Modes
Three camera modes are available:
- Crosshair: Map fixed with North at top, overhead view.
- Compass: Map rotates following your direction, tilted camera angle.
- Arrow: Map rotates following your direction, overhead view.
All modes keep the camera locked to your location as you move (icon shows blue). When you pan the map manually, the lock is removed and the icon turns grey.
Centre Map
Pans the map camera back to your current location without changing zoom level.
Map Scale
The map scale provides a method of judging distances on the map.
