4WD Tracks in Otway Ranges

The Otway Ranges run along the Great Ocean Road coast, and their 4WD network sits mostly within the Otway National Park and the Great Otway National Park conservation area. The tracks here are forest tracks — green, wet in winter, and noticeably different in character from the dry alpine terrain of the High Country.

Forrest to Wye River via Turtons Track is the most-known Otways 4WD route — a forest 4WD track that requires low-range but isn't technically extreme. The back-roads out of Colac towards Beech Forest and along the Barwon River give additional options. The southern coastal fringe around Princetown and Johanna has some vehicle beach access.
