Newtracs allows you to customise your view by enabling or disabling map layers.

Available Layers

Track Difficulty

Filters tracks by difficulty grade, colour-coded on the map.

Obstacles & Difficult Sections

Highlights where users have struggled on a trail and shows major hazards.

Closed Tracks

Overlays government trail closures (Victoria only).

Contours & Hillshade

Adds terrain depth for improved navigation with topographic layers.

Snowline

Highlights all areas above 1000m elevation. Helps you find snow-covered trails.

How to Use Filters

1. Open Map View
2. Tap the Filter icon on the top right corner.
3. Select layers to show or hide. The map updates instantly.

Difficult Section Layer

This function highlights steep or challenging sections on trails. Useful for planning or avoiding tough spots.

1. Open Map View
2. Tap the Layers button
3. Toggle the Difficult Sections button

Obstacle Layer

Shows the location of known obstacles like rock steps, water crossings, or ruts.
