The driving experience here strikes an excellent balance—you'll encounter variable terrain that tests your line-finding skills without overwhelming newer 4WD drivers. Sections of loose gravel and minor rock work keep things interesting, while the ridge portions reward you with expansive views across the surrounding countryside. The relatively short completion time of around 40 minutes makes this ideal for half-day adventures or combining with other local tracks.

Before heading out, ensure your vehicle is in good working order and carry basic recovery gear—while this is a well-travelled route with three previous successful completions logged on Newtracs, remote Victoria demands self-sufficiency. Check weather conditions beforehand, as ridge-top exposure can create challenging wind conditions.
