The Iron Bark Track near Imbil will test your vehicle's capability and your driving skills with an intense 18% grade that demands respect and precision. This 2.6 km trail punishes hesitation—you'll navigate rocky outcrops, deeply rutted sections, and technical climbs that require genuine off-road expertise to conquer safely.

The terrain transitions between dense forest and exposed ridgeline, offering dramatic views that reward your concentration and effort. You'll encounter loose surface conditions and sections where line choice becomes critical; one mistake could mean losing momentum on the steep pitches or getting bogged in the softer ground. The journey typically takes around 10 hours and 50 minutes, so arrive with a full fuel tank, recovery gear, and realistic expectations about your vehicle's limits.

Preparation is non-negotiable here. Ensure your 4WD is in excellent mechanical condition with quality tyres offering genuine grip—this isn't a trail for compromises. Bring a winch and recovery equipment, and ideally tackle it with experienced spotters who understand extreme terrain.
