About Glasshouse Mountains
The Glasshouse Mountains region north of Brisbane has a network of pine plantation forestry tracks and national park fringe roads that give accessible day-trip 4WD within an hour of the city. The terrain is moderate — not extreme, but real enough to be engaging in a capable 4WD.
The Woodford, Maleny, and Peachester back-roads traverse the D'Aguilar Range fringe and the pine plantation blocks. The D'Aguilar National Park has some unsealed access. The Conondale Range has more serious forestry tracks to the north-west.
